Companies House accept paper documents for limited companies on “good faith”. This means that, unless your company is signed up for the Companies House PROOF scheme, paper documents filed on behalf of your company will most likely be accepted. A variety of changes can be made via paper forms such as officer resignations and appointments, address changes and share changes. Therefore it’s very easy for fraudulent activity to take place; all it takes is for someone to file a bogus form on behalf of your company at Companies House.

The Company Status Explained
When you complete a company search with us we will provide you with the company status (amongst other things). Here is a quick breakdown of these statuses and what they mean:
• Company is dissolved
The company has been dissolved but reports on it can still be bought.
• In Liquidation
A closing company whose assets are being redistributed.
• Financial Statements too old
The company has overdue accounts.
• Non trading
A currently dormant company that has filed a minimum of one set of accounts.
• Active – Newly Incorporated
A newly formed company. Information on the company will be brief as little will have been filed.
• Active – Accounts Filed
A trading company that has filed a minimum of one set of accounts.
• Director not appointed
No Director Appointment within the company

The Company Results Page: View Details
When you complete a company search with us, the company results page will display such information as the:
• Company Name
• Company Number
• Registered Office Address
• Date last Accounts were filed
• Company Status
There is no payment required to view this information, you simply need to search for the Limited Company from our homepage and then click “View Details” next to the relevant company.
