How To Use Directorship Information To See The Bigger Picture

If a limited company director is, or was, the director of multiple companies we use the terms “Current Directorships” and “Previous Directorships” when listing all the companies that they are (or were) involved with.

You can find a director’s directorship information in the following report types:

  • Standard Company Reports
  • Fully Comprehensive Company Reports
  • Director Reports

  • How to use Directorship information

This information is relevant when you’re trying to gain background information on a director and the companies that they’re involved with.

For example, you’re the owner of a business and a customer has made a very large order but wishes to pay on credit. Now you could just use a company report to take a look at their accounts and credit rating/limit to see if they’ll be able to pay you.

However, you could also take a look at the director’s current and previous directorships and then proceed to look at reports on these companies too. This would provide you with a thorough background of the director and the types of businesses that they’re associated with.

Where is the Directorship information in a report?

In Snapshot and Fully Comprehensive Company Credit Reports the information will be found in the “Directors” tab.

In Director Reports the information will be displayed straight away.
